So continuing from my last journal entry, I took studio arts this year because the curriculum is more paint-oriented and that's what I need to work on. Plus, I took the grade 11 photography class last year, and I wasn't really interested in taking the "crafts" course.

But so far in the course, there's been nooo painting.
First was drawing, we were supposed to be drawing abstract things, but most of us ended up drawing regular things and zooming in. Which makes them abstract (apparently). I still don't really understand what abstract is, so I submitted them on DA as either still life, or whatever the other one was.

Anyways, the next unit is sculpture, and everything after that is supposed to be painting, I hear.
I'm excited for my sculpture, I think I have a good idea. But this project is going to be dragged on for like, two weeks? What? For one sculpture?
grr.
Anyways, look for that later.
I'll try to take some wip shots for my scraps too.



On a more exciting note, Jessica gave me some black and white film when she moved, so I'll be doing some darkroom work soon, hopefully printing some. I know the darkroom is free during my lunch period, and the photography teacher already said I could use it then, so I just have to take some pictures now. (:
